Such a fortunate group - to have a reunion on a sweet green lawn, next to a lake flashing like silver in summer sunlight! No stuffy ballroom for this gathering, and no formal suits and gowns either
- just a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere where everyone could enjoy the nostalgia of revisiting a time long ago, when most experiences were new and the road ahead was an exciting mystery.
The beautiful day both promoted and mirrored the sunny atmosphere of friends greeting friends who, having lived busy lives, now have really interesting stories to tell. A reunion is much more
than a gathering of old friends, it is an opportunity to meet the people they have become in the intervening years. The only thing that we had in common in school was school. Now we share life's trials and joys.
Maybe we will meet again some day, and possibly not, but the histories related at the reunion helped us to know each other as completed people. Maybe all reunions should be celebrated for the first time only after
forty years have passed. Life has filled us in, having presented us with the choices and happenstance that make us unique.
